Virreyes Rugby Club: Two Decades of Social Commitment Through Sports and Education
Founded more than 20 years ago, Virreyes Rugby Club was established with the mission of making sports accessible to underserved communities in Virreyes, San Fernando. Over the years, with the invaluable support of national, provincial, and municipal governments—as well as various sectors of society—they have strengthened their engagement with young athletes, providing them not only with sports training but also with essential health and educational resources.
Currently, 500 boys and girls of all ages participate in rugby at Virreyes. Additionally, the club offers soccer programs for over 150 children, both male and female, as well as classical ballet training.
Beyond athletics, they are deeply committed to education, offering a range of programs including:
Literacy School
Academic Support
Primary: Assistance with basic subjects and study techniques.
Secondary: Help with homework and exam preparation.
University: Support for studies and advanced academic preparation.
Tutors – Guidance in the academic, social, and family environment of young students

Regarding health, all players aged 15 and older undergo annual medical check-ups.
Furthermore, as part of their commitment to supporting families, they distribute 3,500 liters of milk and other essential food items every month—a practice initiated during the pandemic and sustained ever since.
At the end of each year, they strive to organize sports tours that not only foster human connections but also expose their players to diverse social realities, enriching their perspectives and experiences.
